February 11th, 2010

We just read a really interesting article at Hoax Slayer about the dangers of leaving plastic bottles filled with water in your car in the sun on a hot day. Stainless Steel Bottles – where are they made?

February 3rd, 2010

We are frequently asked where various brands of Stainless Steel Drink Bottles are made.  The short answer is all the best brands are made in China. Site sponsor Shop Naturally spent an extensive amount of time sourcing water bottles and was unable to find any manufactured locally. While all the brands they stock are manufactured in China, only reputable brands were chosen who displayed information about choosing ethical manufacturers. Here is a list of the 7 major brands stocked, the country of origin & also the country where the company is located – for those who want to want to keep their dollars as close to home as possible. The Cheeki water bottles are the best selling of all brands due to their colourful artwork and price.

Klean Kanteen Water Bottle Sports Cap review

Klean Kanteen Sports 2.0 Cap

Klean Kanteen Sports 2.0 Cap

In-house product testing from the team at Shop Naturally has shown that the Klean Kanteen Sports 2.0 cap has THE best water flow out of any of the sports caps in their range. Considering they have the widest range of water bottles for sale online in Australia, this is a pretty good review.

If rapid water flow is important to you in a sports cap, they recommend the Klean Kanteen Drink Bottles before any others in their range.

The Klean Kanteen Sports 2.0 cap is advertised as having 3x the water flow of their original lid. There is a tiny silicone valve in the lid that allows for increased air flow in the lid. While most other lids have the air flow in the actual mouth piece (which means that with some of the lesser quality lids, you are sucking up a little bit of air as you drink), this lid does not. The only down side is that these Sports 2.0 caps are not leak-proof. If you let one roll around a sports bag and the silicone seal is nudged, they will leak a little.

For transport, they recommend a screw cap, either the standard BPA free polypropylene screw cap or a klean kanteen stainless steel flat cap (available to be purchased seperately). You can quickly and easily switch out the lid when you’re about to start your exercise.
