Buy a re-usable water bottle

I heard the most ridiculous story on ABC today, a ‘cheapie’ shop in Moss Vale (just around the corner from Bundanoon, the first town in the world to ban the sale of bottled water), there’s a shop selling bottled water for 65 cents, and it comes from Malaysia.

Now let’s get this straight. Malaysia is a country where Australians are warned NOT to drink the tap water. The plastic bottles are made (which uses several litres of water itself), the water is put in the bottles. It is then transported to docks where it’s loaded on to a ship, transported to Australia, then put in a truck and driven to Moss Vale, where it’s sold in a shop that has to pay wages, insurance, electricity etc, all for the price of 65 cents.

Has the world gone crazy? If you must buy bottled water for convenience, please buy it from a company who hasn’t shipped it half way around the world first. This is just a revolting attack on our planet.

Buy a re-usable water bottle and fill it up at home.

(Please note: this is not an attack on Malaysia, it’s an attack on the bottled water industry. Having fancy French & Italian still water shipped from the other side of the world is just as bad)
